Art Amongst the Vines
By fortunate coincidence, the two owners at Borgo Syrah also happen to be renowned art collectors, particularly in the genre of Contemporary Art. This opens up a new set of prospects for the Cortona area, by bringing Contemporary Art to the vineyards and enriching the already superb network of cultural events held in the surroundings.
The aim of the Art Amongst the Vines project, which will require a few years to crystallize, is to create a coordinated set of installations featuring artworks designed to highlight and enhance – through a network of display stations and visual alignments – the signs, geometrical axes and relationships between the construction of buildings and the layout of the foliage within the landscape, which, over the years, have shaped the general design of this area.
The idea is to provide, through the artwork, a visual stimulus along the entry route for visitors to observe and admire as they enter. In doing so, they will also be able to perceive and interpret the history of the surroundings in which the work is set.
